  • HFS hit Barcelona as House Band
    06th Mar 2016

At the beginning of February we traveled out to the beautiful City of Barcelona to appear as the House Band for a week long event at the highly exclusive Hotel Arts.

It was a unique brief: 1 night we were to appear as the House Band for a TV chat show style conference playing the walk-up music for the various guests and presenters, and another night we were to play a full on party set for everyone to let their hair down to. Plus our very own legendary DJ, DJ Tombstone, would be making a high profile appearance!

It’s always an exciting task providing the live walk-up music because it’s a high-pressure situation where things literally have to be nailed down to the second, and we revel in these settings! Positioned in front of a stunning £1 million LED screen (don’t fall backwards into it!!) that had traveled all the way from Blackpool, we had just 8 ‘stings’ to perform.

The songs were all specifically requested and included Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me”, One Direction’s Perfect” and Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean”, but our absolute favourite of the night had to be “Can’t Feel My Face” by the Weeknd – not just because it’s a bangin’ tune, but because the person walking out to this sting happened to be the European representative for Botox! Turns out pharmaceutical companies do have a sense of humor!

The TV style chat show all went down without a hitch and gave all the delegates a sneak preview of what was to come 2 days later when the real party would get underway.

In between setups, sound checks, and performances, we had plenty of time to sample the delights of what Barcelona has to offer. We experienced the awe-inspiring Sagrada Familia, the beautiful beaches, as well as plenty of local bars and of course the hotel pool!

The main party was absolutely wild and great fun all round. The massive crowd of about 800 people were totally up for it and the incredible staging and production came into it’s own.

All in all we had a fantastic time in the Mediterranean Metropolis, and we delivered a great show all round for the clients.
